My good friend, Jeff Gilbert in Seattle, WA, has a bout coming up tomorrow, in Langley, British Columbia. I am thrilled for him! He's been training hard and eagerly anticipating this match. I know he will do well and I sure hope he has a blast with it. Jeff will be going up against a Canadian opponent. The match will be at the Langley City Boxing Club. Here is the information; if you happen to be in the greater Vancouver, BC area, stop by and cheer Jeff on. He's a good guy and he is really psyched for this bout.
Do well, Jeff, and above all, have a great time!

Monday's Workout
I had a good workout today, but I was the only one at practice with Bernard! I don't know what happened with the rest of the guys. I hope they will be there on Thursday. (Our next workout is on Thursday this week instead of Wednesday, but unfortunately, I won't be there because I have to attend a meeting.)
Here's the recap for today:
Here's the recap for today:
- 25 minutes of roadwork (yes, it's still cold out there)
- 9 rounds on the pads with Bernard
- 4 rounds practicing slipping with the rope (actually a string) across the ring
- 2 rounds on the heavy bag
- 1 round of practicing the left jab while holding a 3-pound weight
- 1 round of stretching

Chilly Sunday Roadwork
Winter is back! I managed only 12 minutes today. It's freezing out there. I did some shadowboxing, too, but it's still cold.

Thursday Roadwork
Did 33 minutes today. Surprisingly, I am not sore from yesterday. That's a good thing.

Wednesday's Training
Today's workout was pretty good. At our practice, it was Bernard, Cory, Kevin, Andrew, and a guest of Bernard's named Chance who came in to give us some sparring practice. Kevin sparred 3 rounds with him. I didn't spar because it was my first time attending practice in about two weeks, so I wanted to get my timing back. Even so, I had a good workout. Here's the breakdown:
- 22 minutes of roadwork
- 9 rounds on the pads with Bernard
- 3 rounds of shadowboxing
- 2 rounds on the heavy bag
- 1 round on the double-end bag
- 1 round of stretching

Into the Winter I Go
Ah, the holidays are over. They were great fun, but they also played havoc with my workouts. Roadwork continues throughout December and the beginning of this month, but gym workouts were spotty and inconsistent. Now that we're into January, though, I am hoping to get back on track. I know I can do it; I just have to be consistent. Happy New Year 2007 and let's go for a good year of training and improvement of skills!
