Just Let Me Take this One Call...

Mobile phones really are everywhere these days, aren't they? I sent this to my friend Chris, who lives in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I will be visiting him soon. Chris and I have agreed to put the gloves on for a friendly match while I am there. In my e-mail to him, I assured Chris that this picture would not give an accurate depiction of our bout.

For one thing, I would not be so rude; I would definitely use a hands-free unit! :-P

For another, I can't imagine that Chris would let me get away with a stunt like that! The old rule, "protect yourself at all times," comes to mind! Chris is a good guy, but I doubt he'd let me take a break to yak on the phone. (Would he have to go to a neutral corner while I was talking?) More likely, I'd be looking at the lights pretty darned quickly, so I will let voice mail answer any mobile calls that I might receive during this epic bout!

If I knew when this epic battle takes place, I could possibly arrange a phone calll;-)

No doubt we'll hear more of this later on...

Hey Marc,

Thanks for stopping by. Haha. You would arrange a phone call? I sure hope you would call Chris's phone rather than mine! I might need the help.

Yes, I will post more about this epic bout later, as we set a date for it. I'm looking forward to it.

Ha! Classic.

Even though we have a sign banning them, you'd be surprised how many times I've seen people take phone calls in the gym. The other day I swear I saw a girl take a call mid crunches!!!

Hey Nerd of Steel,

She interrupted her abs routine to take the call??? Yeow!

The only time I have taken a call in (or even taken my cell phone to) the gym is on the very rare occasion when our coach is running late or can't be there for some reason. The main reason I do that is I'm one of our team captains and I want to be able to keep the other guys informed if there is any change in the routine. Aside from that, my phone just takes a break and chills out in the locker room, with the ringer turned off. Heh.
